Dhaka, August 1 (BDNEWS)-President Dr Iajuddin Ahmed and Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia have expressed their grief at the death of King of the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.
In separate condolence messages to new King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud on Monday the President and the Prime Minister expressed their profound sense of sadness and overwhelming grief at the death of the King Fahd, also the custodian of the two holy Mosques.
President Prof Iajuddin Ahmed in his condolence message said King Fahd was the most respected leader of his people and symbolized the unity and solidarity of the entire Muslim Ummah. He shall be long commemorated among all his friends and admirers for his prudent leadership and invaluable contribution to the cause of peace, stability and progress of the humanity. He was also a close and revered well-wisher of Bangladesh.
"The people of Bangladesh join me in mourning his sad demise and in the prayer to Almighty Allah to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and courage and fortitude to the bereaved members of the Royal family and the people of the Kingdom to withstand this irreparable loss", the president said.
Prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia in her condolence message conveyed on behalf of the government and on her own behalf deepest condolences and sincerest sympathies at the sad demise of King Fahd. His demise is an irreparable loss for the Kingdom as well as the entire Muslim Ummah. His sagacious leadership was a fountain of inspiration for the Muslim brethren all over the world to remain united. Late King's great service for the Muslim World and his noble deeds of charity and assistance for the poor humanity will be long remembered with reverence.
"The brotherly relations between our two countries reached a new height in different areas of cooperation during the reign of King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz. The people of Bangladesh will ever recall his very kind attention and care for the service of the people of Bangladesh," the PM noted.
"May Almighty Allah grant eternal peace to his departed soul and bless the bereaved family and the brotherly people of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with His divine blessings, patience and fortitude to bear this irreversible loss," she added.
