Dhaka, Aug 23 (BDNEWS) - In the wake of August 17 bomb blasts across the country, Prime Minister Khaleda Zia Tuesday urged the people to have patience and restrained to tackle the existing situation in the country.
"None will be spared off for the bomb blasts. The investigation is on and there has already been some progress. Stern punitive actions will be taken against the perpetrators under rule of law," she said when leaders of Bangladesh Jatiya Party (Naziur) met her at the Prime Minister's Office.
She said the law enforcing agencies have been instructed not to harass the innocent people.
Begum Zia called upon all irrespective of opinion and party affiliation to cooperate the government to find out the perpetrators.
BJP leader Dr MA Matin, MM Amin Uddin, Kazi Alauddin and Kazi Anwar Hossain were present.
The BJP leaders thanked the prime minister and appreciated her steps taken after the August 17 blasts. They also congratulated the prime minister for her successful China visit.
They expressed solidarity with the prime minister's call for national unity to curb terrorism.
