Dhaka, Sept 6 (BDNEWS) - The newly elected ruling BNP lawmakers in the reserved seats for women in the parliament called on Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at her office Tuesday.
All the 30 women lawmakers except advocate Ferdous Akhter Wahida, led by state minister for cultural affairs Selima Rahman, met the PM.
Congratulating the party women lawmakers, the PM urged them to work for the welfare of the womenfolk and empowerment of the women.
She also advised her newly elected deputies to work for the country discharging their duties properly.
The PM also asked them to work with honesty and sincerity for the party to ensure its victory in the next general elections. She also hoped the people will voted them to power again through the next general elections.
The BNP women lawmakers, who took oath Monday, are expected to join the upcoming parliament session beginning Thursday.
