Dhaka, March 31 (BDNEWS) – Police did not find the ruling party MP's son looking for assaulting a traffic police man Wednesday, but Md Noman slept home last night (Wednesday) and was also at home through out the day Thursday.
Traffic police constable Abdul Majid Wednesday evening filed a case with Tejgaon thana against Md. Noman (28), son of Jessore-1 constituency MP Ali Kadar, and his six other accomplices accusing them of assaulting him physically at Manik Miah Avenue in the afternoon.
The injured police constable Majid was shifted to Rajarbagh Police Line Hospital from Suharwardy Hospital after his condition deteriorated, police sources said.
Sub Inspector (SI) Golam Mowla of Tejgaon police station admitted to BDNEWS of accepting the case lodged against the MP's son and his accomplices under sections 143, 186, 322,333 and 353.
When contacted, the investigation officer (IO) SI Rezaul Islam of Tejgaon thana said, "we are looking for Noman, but we did not find him anywhere."
Rezaul said he along with police force went to MP's residence at MP Hostel Wednesday night. Besides, he also looked for Noman at other places, but did not get him.
"We are looking for him and will arrest him," the police officer said.
But mother of Noman told BDNEWS over phone, "Police do not know the difference between owner of a car and a driver. They do not know how to approach a gentleman."
She said Noman is a businessman and slept at his room last night and denied visit of police at her residence Wednesday night.
She however, admitted her son's fault and said they would look into the matter.
Noman along with his six other friends mercilessly beat up the traffic constable as he tried to stop Noman after he violated traffic signal on his way to Asad Gate from their MP Hostel residence Wednesday afternoon.
