Dhaka North Mayor Annisul Huq hospitalised in London

Aide says Dhaka North Mayor Annisul Huq 'stable' at London hospital

"As of today (25 August 2017), the doctors have decided to keep Annis sedated as they want his brain to be under full rest," Rubana Huq said in a statement released in London.

"The doctors want to do more tests on him to determine the exact nature of cerebral vasculitis he is suffering from in order to address his strokes in the best possible manner," the mayor's wife said in her statement issued by Bangladesh mission's press officer Nadeem Qadir.

"The first phase of medicines have not impacted him as yet," she said. "We expect to get more updates from doctor later next week."

"Please, kindly continue to pray for Annis as he needs all your prayers," she said in the first formal statement on his condition from the family.

The family or the High Commission in London has not disclosed the name of the hospital where he is being treated.
