Manzurul Alam new BTRC chief

The government has made a former army officer the chief of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). The government issued a circular on the appointment Thursday. Retired Major General Manzurul Alam, a former Army Signals Corps officer, is the first telecoms professional to head BTRC, which was established in January 2002. "The new chairman should expeditiously strengthen BTRC," a regulatory official told bdnews24.com, asking for anonymity.
