The 33-year-old is living up to the promise he made at the beginning of the year that he would get hitched by the year-end.
The would-be spouse is Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid’s daughter Nadia Nandita Islam.
The pre-wedding Gaye Halud of Nadia, a Dhaka University teacher, and Imran, a doctor by training, was held privately on Friday evening.

The families of Nadia, an assistant professor at the Department of Linguistics, and Imran had been discussing the marriage for quite sometime, a person close to Imran told bdnews24.com.
That the wedding will finally happen this year has been confirmed by none other than the groom himself.
Speaking to bdnews24.com, Imran said: “Everything is being done by the families. The wedding will take place in the bride’s home in Dhaka (Saturday).”
Born on Oct 14, 1983, Imran became a household name after the Ganajagaran Mancha movement started in February, 2013, to demand capital punishment for war criminals.
Nadia, called Tinni by people close to her, is from Sylhet. She completed SSC in 1997.
Imran received his MBBS degree from Rangpur Medical College. He had been involved with ruling Awami League’s student affiliate Bangladesh Chhatra League.
He was also involved with an organisation, Youth for Peace and Democracy (YPD), which aims to raise political awareness and instil secular spirit among students.

The organisers of Ganajagaran Mancha made him the spokesperson when he joined the movement as the convenor of Blogger and Online Activist Network.
In February, Imran announced on Facebook that he is marrying this year. Posting a selfie, he wrote: "I am marrying in 2016. It's final. Need to ease parents' worries.."
When contacted at that time, he told bdnews24.com he could not pay attention to the issue of marriage for being busy at the Mancha.
"Actually my parents and relatives had been asking me (about the issue) since I passed MBBS. Meanwhile the Ganajagaran Mancha was formed in 2013 and I joined it. 2014-15 passed working for the Mancha, so I could not think about the matter.
"Some war criminals have been hanged recently. The public awareness about war crimes trial has also risen following the launch of Mancha movement. And the family is also asking about it. So..." Imran had told bdnews24.com.
