The former Dhaka mayor told a BNP meeting on Oct 18 – “Everyone must get ready with machetes, axes, spears, sticks and whatever else that we have.”
When asked about the detective raids, DMP Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam told bdnews24.com, “Khoka will surface in due time.”
“I think he went underground to make axes and spears, he will come back when its time,” said the police official at an apparent pun at his comment.
Police raided Khoka’s Gulshan residence after his provocative comment on Sunday but did not find him there.

Police on Tuesday raided his other residence in Gopibagh but also failed to find him there.
BNP Joint General Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told reporters in a press conference “It seems he (Khoka) would be arrested by the police if he was at home.”
Rizvi also chipped in with a fiery comment like Khoka , when he asked BNP supporters to become like “gunners”.
Monirul Islam told bdnews24.com, “We don’t know where he is now, we have no information that suggests he attended any Eid public prayer in Dhaka today (Wednesday).”
