Mashuk Ferdous, a ninth grader at SOS Hermann Gmeiner College in Bogra, was beaten to death on May 13.
His father Emdadul Haque started a case against Mushfiqur’s father Tara, uncle Mezbahul Hamid, who is a ward councillor, and 14 others over the murder after three days.
Emdadul alleged a longstanding dispute over control of Matidhali High School’s managing committee between his family and Tara’s led to the murder of Mashuk.
The bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Krishna Debnath granted Tara the anticipatory bail on June 5, Jahidul Bari, his lawyer, told bdnews24.com on Thursday.
He said Tara will have to surrender before the trial court after the bail period ends.
He also claimed one of the arrested accused, Mohammad Nayeem, confessed to killing Mashuk following a quarrel over a cricket match.
