The first International Crimes Tribunal, (ICT) headed by justice M Enayetur Rahim, is expected to start delivering the verdict around 10.30am on Wednesday.
Earlier, Nizami was brought to the tribunal from the Dhaka Central Jail at around around 9.19am.
The 71-year-old war crimes accused was brought to Dhaka from Gazipur's Kahsimpur Central Jail Tuesday night.
Security measures have been raised since the date of verdict was announced on Tuesday with the home ministry deciding to deploy Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) personnel.
Additional RAB and police personnel have been deployed in and around the tribunal, situated at the old High Court premises.
Everyone including members of the press are being subjected to a through search by law enforces before being allowed to enter the tribunal.
High Court Police Outpost OC Abdus Salam said around 450 police personnel have been deployed in the High Court and tribunal premises.
"No one will be spared if found attempting to create trouble."
ICT Deputy Registrar Arunav Chakravarty they had requested police to increase security measures ahead of Nizami's verdict.
Breaking from its usual trend, the Jamaat-e-Islami has not called a shutdown, which has been the case so far on each verdict day of top Jamaat leaders charged with war crimes.
State minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told reporters Wednesday that security has been tightened across Bangladesh and all necessary action will be taken to deal with the emerging situation.
