Firefighters have tames the blaze in a building for around two and a half hours in Dhaka’s Mirpur weeks after over two dozen lives were lost in a similar incident.

Eighteen units brought the fire under control around 7:30pm on Sunday, Ershad Hossain, an official at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, told bdnews24.com.
Some shops are situated on the ground floor while some of the upper floors are used as warehouses of a garment factory, according an official at Kafrul Police Station.
Smoke was seen billowing from the fifth and sixth floors.
The building was supposed to be empty as Sunday is a public holiday on the occasion of Bangla New Year – Pahela Baishakh.
