Zaima to represent father Tarique Rahman at National Prayer Breakfast in US

Mirza Fakhrul will lead the three-member delegation of the BNP at the event

Zaima Rahman will represent her father Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the BNP, at the National Prayer Breakfast event in Washington DC.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will lead the three-strong delegation at the event, which will be held from Feb 5 to Feb 6.

“National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event in the US. Our Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has been invited to the event,” Fakhrul told bdnews24.com.

“Tarique cannot make it and his daughter Zaima Rahman will represent him. She will fly to Washington from London.”

Fakhrul and BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury will take the Emirates Airlines flight at 6:30pm on Sunday, said BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.

The National Prayer Breakfast is a platform in the US for the dialogues between national and international leaders.

On Jan 11, the National Prayer Breakfast committee, organised by the US Congress invited BNP Acting Chairperson Tarique, Fakhrul, Amir Khosru to the event.
