The National Consensus Building Commission is set to sit with political parties to discuss the recommendations of the six reform commissions next Saturday.
Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said the dialogue with the parties will begin from that day with the complete report of the reform commissions.
At a media briefing at Dhaka’s Foreign Service Academy on Monday night, he said: “The dialogue will be held between the Consensus Commission and political parties for the first time with the reports submitted by the reform panels."
The full-fledged report of the six reform commissions established in the first phase of state reform was published on the websites of the Cabinet Division and the Constitutional Reform Commission on Saturday.
Following the fall of the Awami League government on Aug 5, 2024, the interim administration took several steps to ensure the democratic transition, including forming the six reform commissions in October.
Later, the transitional government formed a separate commission named “National Consensus Building Commission”, headed by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus.
Ali Riaz, a professor at Illinois State University, is the vice-chairman of the commission.
The remaining five commission heads are members of the consensus panel.
