The Anti-discrimination Student Movement activists have handed over an Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee leader to police in Chattogram.

They picked up Kaniz Fatema from outside the city's General Post Office, or GPO, on Sunday afternoon and took her to Kotwali Police Station.

Fatema, a Bangladesh Post Office official, is the women's affairs assistant secretary of the committee’s Chattogram metropolitan unit.

Kotwali police chief Abdul Karim said, "The Anti-discrimination Student Movement activists detained Kaniz Fatema and brought her to the police station. We are investigating whether she is accused in any lawsuit."

Some videos of the Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee leader being taken to the police station have gone viral on social media.

It shows a group of young girls surrounding Fatema. They are taking her to the police station chanting slogans.
