Switzerland gives extra $3.6m in rehab assistance

Switzerland has provided an additional $3.6 million in emergency assistance for post-flood and cyclone Sidr rehabilitation bringing the total Swiss assistance to $5.5 million.

Dhaka, Dec 13 (bdnews24.com)--Switzerland has provided an additional $3.6 million in emergency assistance for post-flood and cyclone Sidr rehabilitation bringing the total Swiss assistance to $5.5 million.
Swiss government officials Thursday signed an agreement in Dhaka with the UNDP, through which the money will be channelled.
As per the agreement, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation will provide UNDP $1.72 million for early economic recovery of the cyclone affected people.
The SDC will also provide $1.88 million for post flood rehabilitation according to another agreement signed between the SDC and the Food and Agriculture Organisation.
Both the projects will be implemented in close cooperation with the food and disaster management, agriculture, and fisheries and livestock ministries.
