Khulna, Aug 28 (BDNEWS) – The authorities of the closed Daulatpur Jute Mills owe Tk 3 crore 21 lakh 20 thousand 19 to sixty nine jute traders in Khulna.
The leaders of Jute Traders' Association submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the deputy commissioner on Sunday demanding payment of dues.
President of the Association Md Abbas Ali and general secretary Md Shamim submitted the memorandum while the 69 jute traders including Meer Matiar Rahman and Md Shahjahan Haoladar were present there.
The Daulatpur Jute Mills was closed following an order of the government on December 7, 2002. Though the dues of the workers, employees and officials were paid within three months after the closure of the Mills, the dues of the jute traders are yet to be paid.
