Cox's Bazar, May 3 (BDNEWS) – A charge sheet against noted singer Robi Chowdhury has been submitted to Cox's Bazar Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Monday.
This followed a case filed by the father of Paryel Samiha Sharika, second wife of Robi Chowdhury.
According to the details of the case, Robi Chowdhury started torturing Sharika physically 7 to 8 days after the wedding. At one stage Robi demanded Tk 5 lakh as a dowry from Sharika's father. Then Robi started torturing his wife even more intensely.
Giasuddin Chowdhury, Sharika's father filed a case with Cox's Bazar Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal. The court then ordered Ukhia police to investigate the case. After a three-month long inquiry, investigating officer Monirul Haque submitted the charge sheet.
