Budget stock market-friendly: DSE

Dhaka, Jun 7 (bdnews24.com) – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) President Rakibur Rahman has termed the proposed budget for 2012-13 market-friendly.
"Apart from retaining some previous incentives, the capital market has also been given some more facilities. It reflects the government's sincerity, which will have a positive impact on the market," he told bdnews24.com after Finance Minister A M A Muhith tabled the budget proposals in parliament on Thursday.
Muhith in his budget speech spoke about demutualisation, minimum shares for sponsor-directors, amendment of several stock market laws and other issues relating to it.
Rakibur said good companies would be encouraged to get listed on the bourses as new firms would get 10 percent tax rebate.
"The finance minister spoke about all important factors of the market. The government's sincerity has been expressed through this budget. It will raise investors' confidence. I think that the budget is stock market-friendly," he added.
