A broken truck has caused a traffic tailback on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway on Friday.

The traffic congestion started early on Friday after a loaded truck broke down at Tangail’s Elenga around 2am, Inspector SM Shahidur Rahman of Tangail’s traffic police.
Traffic remains slow on the eight-kilometre stretch between Tangail’s Rasulpur and Elenga due to construction works for upgrading the highway to a four-lane one.
More the rush on weekends causes the traffic to move slowly between Thursday and Saturday.
Vehicles were found stranded at some place until 8:30am while at other places were moving at a snail’s pace.
The broken truck has added to the woes.
