Barisal, May 5 (bdnews24.com) — Police arrested the top leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League's Barisal Polytechnic Institute unit for creating rowdiness on the campus early on Tuesday night.
The arrestees are the unit president Abdur Razzaq and general secretary Mizanur Rahman.
Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, OC of Barisal Sadr Police Station, said that Razzaq and Mizanur were arrested for creating disturbances on the campus.
On Tuesday, two BCL rival groups indulged in violent clashes that left dozens injured.
Barisal City Chatra League, at an emergency meeting on Tuesday midnight, suspended Moin Tushar, co-convener of the college unit and Jasim Uddin, a member of the city unit.
Besides, they also stopped activities at the institute campus indefinitely.
