No casualties have been reported in the incident

A fire has broken out at a slum in Dhaka’s Banani early on Saturday morning.
The Fire Service said it was brought under control after an hour’s effort.
Anwarul Islam Dolon, a spokesman for the Fire Service, said: “A fire was reported at 5:30am at the slum on Road No. 22 in the K Block of Banani and the first Fire Service unit arrived around 5:41am.”
“Then a total of seven units, including those from the Baridhara, Tejgaon and Kurmitola fire stations, went to the scene and conducted firefighting operations.”
Dolon said: “The fire was brought under control around 6:36am and then completely extinguished around 8:30am. We have not received any reports of casualties in the incident.”
The Fire Service was not immediately able to specify the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage.
On Wednesday, a fire broke out at the Korail slum in Banani, which stretches to near Gulshan. It was the second fire at the slum – the largest in Dhaka – this year.
A fire also broke out at a restaurant in Dhaka’s Uttara on Friday afternoon. It took 12 units of the Fire Service over three hours to bring the blaze under control. A fire also broke out at a residential building in Banasree around 8:30pm. The Fire Service was able to extinguish it after an hour and 15 minutes of effort.
