Three people have been killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Brahmanbaria’s Nabinagar.

The accident occurred at 5:45am on Thursday on the Banshbazar-Etimkhana Road in Ibrahimpur Union.

The dead have been identified as Abul Kashem, 58, Sohag Mia, 19, and Nurul Alam, 55. Kashem and Sohag hailed from the Upazila, while Nurul hailed from Feni.

Pias Basak, additional superintendent of police of the Nabinagar Circle confirmed the deaths, saying that a Sylhet-bound Duranta Paribahan bus crashed into an autorickshaw travelling in the opposite direction.

Three autorickshaw passengers were killed on the spot.

The bus fled immediately after the accident, he said. Legal action will be taken over the incident.
