Actor and former minister Asaduzzaman Noor has been harassed at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, or BSMMU, in Dhaka.
The incident took place on Saturday morning when Noor, along with Tanveer Imam, son of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s political advisor Hossain Toufique Imam, arrived at the hospital's Internal Medicine Department for physiotherapy.
The hospital’s Director Rezaur Rahman told bdnews24.com, "They came for physiotherapy in the morning. Some of those injured in the Anti-discrimination Student Movement were present there, and an unpleasant incident occurred."
He added, "I believe it was an emotional outburst. Since both regular police and prison guards were present, they would have taken the actions as required."
Rezaur said measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
“We are currently taking steps to ensure that no untoward situations arise again. Our authorities have provided guidance, and I have also spoken with the inspector general of prisons,” he added.
