The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced that the 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) oral examinations scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday have been postponed.

The two-day exams have been postponed following the announcement of three days of state mourning and a public holiday on Wednesday due to the death of BNP chairperson and former premier Khaleda Zia, according to a media statement issued on Tuesday.

A revised date for the exams will be announced later, the statement said.

The viva exams under the 46th BCS began on Dec 28.

As per the previous schedule, the oral exams were to be held for 195 candidates who passed the written test for general cadre posts on Wednesday, and for 195 candidates on Thursday.

Earlier, on Nov 27, the results of the BCS written exam were published, declaring 4,042 candidates as successful.
