‘Killer Hasina won’t let us live if we fail,’ says Sarjis Alam

He makes the remark during a ceremony at the Tarek Smriti Auditorium in Mymensingh city

Sarjis Alam, the general secretary of July Martyrs Memorial Foundation, has said the former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her allies are always trying to ensure their failure and if they fail, none of them will be able to live.

He made the remark during a ceremony at the Tarek Smriti Auditorium in Mymensingh city on Saturday morning while distributing the financial assistance of Tk 500,000 to each of the families of 55 people killed in the July mass uprising.

Also the Anti-discrimination Student Movement leader, Sarjis said the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation will stay beside the families of the martyrs.

During the student movement, 93 people were killed in Mymensingh. Many of the victims during the movement are still suffering in hospital beds with injuries. The July Martyrs Memorial Foundation has taken initiatives to support them.

Initially, the donation cheques have been given to 55 families. Members of the families were emotional upon receiving the assistance.

“If we survive, we will stand beside the martyrs’ families even at the cost of our own lives. We won’t let any harm come to them,” Sarjis said during the ceremony.
