Dhaka, Aug 5 (BDNEWS) – With the existing 28 police stations, the capital city will be having five more new thanas to be inaugurated on Monday, August 7.
DMP sources said the newly formed Shahbagh thana will be functioning from the Shahbagh Police Control Room, Tejgaon Industrial Thana from Tejgaon Police Outpost, Uttarkhan Thana from Uttarkhan Mandarbari and Dakkhin Khan thana from Ayesha Shopping Complex.
On the other hand, the newly formed Jatrabari thana will work from the old Demra police station while the old Demra thana will operate from Ahmed Bawani Textile Mill Building.
The existing thanas of the DMP are Ramna, Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur, Adabar, New Market, Lalbagh, Hazaribagh, Kamrangirchar, Kotwali, Sutrapur, Motijheel, Shyampur, Demra, Sabujbagh, Badda, Gulshan, Khilgaon, Uttara, Tejgaon, Mirpur, Shah Ali, Pallabi, Kafrul, Cantonment, Airport, Khilkhet, Turag and Ashulia.
