A Dhaka court has summoned star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan in an IFIC Bank cheque fraud case. The court ordered him to appear before it on Jan 18.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque issued the order on Wednesday.
On Dec 15, Shakib Al Hasan was named in a cheque fraud case, said Khandaker Shahriar Alam, a court clerk. The court issued a summons for Shakib after the hearing on Wednesday.
Shahibur Rahman filed the case with the court on Dec 15.
The case also accused Shakib’s company Al Hasan Agro Farm, its Managing Director Gazi Shahagir Hossein, and directors Emdadul Haque and Malaikar Begum.
“The court held a hearing on the matter and then issued the summons,” said the court’s Bench Assistant Khandaker Shahriar Alam.
