Airport customs has seized 2kg gold and detained a passenger at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday.

‘Mintu’, 35 was detained around 8.30am when crossing the green signal, said Joint Commissioner Md Zia Uddin.
He had flown in from Kuala Lumpur by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight Wednesday morning.
“The gold was melted and concealed inside a rice cooker”, said Zia.
The estimated market value of the confiscated gold is around Tk 10 million, he added.
