Nurul Amin, member of parliament from Chattogram-1 (Mirsarai), has been injured in a road accident in Feni while returning from Cumilla.

The accident occurred around 3pm on Tuesday in Feni Sadar Upazila on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway.

Locals rescued him after the accident and took him to a private hospital in Feni.

After receiving primary treatment there, he was shifted to a private hospital in Chattogram city, where medical tests are currently under way.

Didarul Alam Miaji, former convenor of Baraiyarhat municipal unit of the BNP, said the MP had travelled to Cumilla in the morning for business purposes.

“On his way back, a motorcycle suddenly came in front of the vehicle. While trying to save the motorcyclist, his car hit the divider,” he said.

“As a result, the MP sustained injuries to his face, head and waist,” Didarul added.

Nurul Amin elected from the Chattogram-1 constituency with BNP nomination in the Feb 12 general election.
