At least six other people have been injured after a Soudia Paribahan bus headed to Cox’s Bazar crashed into a minibus travelling in the opposite direction

Five people have been killed and at least six others injured after a head-on collision between a bus and a minibus in Chattogram’s Lohagara.
The accident occurred in the Jangalia area of the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway on Eid Day, Monday morning, police said.
The dead have been identified as Lohagara resident Md Arafat, 21, Md Rifat, 19, Md Nizam, 28, Jishan Hossain Opu, 30, and Satkania Upazila resident Siddique Ahmed, 14.
A Soudia Paribahan bus headed to Cox’s Bazar crashed into a minibus travelling in the opposite direction, leading to casualties, according to Sub-Inspector Manzur Hossain of Dohazari Highway Police.
Five people were killed on the spot. The Fire Service are conducting rescue operations.
Rakhal Chandra Rudra, leader of the Lohagara Fire Station and duty officer at the scene, said the minibus was headed from Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya towards Chattogram.
All of the dead were passengers on the minibus, he added.
