Dhaka, June 25 (bdnews24.com) –Arambagh Krira Sangha on Wednesday appointed veteran Wazed Gazi football coach to guide its professional football league's team for the upcoming season.
Gazi, the former national footballer, had started his coaching career in 1980 guiding Rahmatganj MFS and then took the responsibility of Arambagh KS to help it to finish fourth among 14 teams in 1984. He was also appointed the Arambagh coach in 1985 and 1994.
Gazi, who also guided the national team in the 1987 Quaid-e-Azam Football tournament, came to prominence in 2005 when he helped Brothers Union finish top in the premier division league after Sheikh Russel KC under his guidance became runners-up in the premier division in their first appearance in 2003.
Under Gazi's supervision, Sheikh Russel also finished third in the second B. League in the last season.
Former national coach Gazi will now guide Arambagh KS, who finished ninth in the last edition B. League and thus failed to qualify for the Citycell Super Cup.
