Dhaka, June 11 (bdnews24.com) - Commonwealth gold medalist Asif Hossain Khan continued his dismal performance at the shooting range when he finished third Wednesday in the 10m Air Rifle event of the 22nd National Shooting Championship at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP).
Asif, dropped from the Beijing Olympic-bound Bangladesh contingent due to poor performance, scored 677.2 out of 700 points finishing third as a Dhaka Rifle Club's shooter.
Imam Hossain of Army Shooting Club grabbed the event's gold medal scoring 685.3 points while Azizur Rahman Ujjal secured silver medal with 682.6 points.
Sabrina Sultana of Dhaka Rifle Club grabbed the gold medal in the event of women's Rifle Prone scoring 568 out of 600 points. Tripti Datta and Nahid Sultana finished second and third shooting 567 and 564 respectively.
In the 10m (Junior) Air Rifle, Imran Hossain of Kushtia Rifle Club bagged gold medal scoring 571 while Shovon Chowdhury and M Shahriya Swarup from the BKSP Shooting Club finished second and third scoring 569 and 568 respectively.
