New Delhi, June 18 (BDNEWS): Former Pakistan cricket captain Javed Miandad's son and daughter of Dawood Ibrahim, are expected to tie the knot in Dubai on July 9.
Miandad's son, who is currently in England for studies, had been engaged to Ibrahim's daughter in January this year. The engagement was a quiet affair.
The actual ceremony is expected to be a hush-hush one too, with not many guests being invited. Dawood is also expected to attend the marriage.
Miandad had reacted angrily when news of the engagement surfaced earlier this year, saying he would make no comments on the matter.
When contacted in Lahore, Miandad was more composed and did not deny that the marriage was on the cards. Miandad said it would not be a secret.
Miandad is the son-in-law of a leading Pakistani business family in whose businesses Dawood has invested heavily.
Indian authorities have been pursuing Dawood ever since he escaped to Karachi after allegedly engineering the Mumbai terror blasts in 1993 that took more than 300 lives.
Dawood also got his family, comprising his wife, four daughters and a son, as well as certain close associates and their families out of Mumbai. One of his daughter died of malaria in Pakistan.
Miandad was very close to Dawood ever since he got involved in match-fixing over a decade ago. Many Pakistani cricket players were on Dawood's rolls.
