Four more silvers for Bangladesh in SA Games

Dhaka, Aug 21 (BDNEWS) – Gold still remains a far cry for Bangladesh with the country bagging four more silver medals on the fourth day of the South Asian (SA) Games in Colombo Monday.
Sharmin Akhter, who clinched a gold medal in the last edition games in Islamabad in 2004, bagged a silver medal in 10m air-rifle individual event.
Bangladeshi women shooters, comprising Sabrina Sultana, Sharmin Akhter and Suriya Akther, got silver medals in 10m air-rifle team event.
Swimmer Jewel Ahmed became second in the 100m butterfly to collect a silver medal. Jewel on Saturday also bagged silver medal in 50m butterfly.
The swimming team followed Jewel to finish second in the 4X100m free style relay.
Bangladesh national hockey team got off to a winning start with a solitary goal victory over the hosts Sri Lanka.
Rubel Rana, who clinched a gold medal in Islamabad, finished fifth in the 100m backstrokes.
Bangladesh earlier bagged a silver and seven bronze medals up to Sunday in the SA Games.
