Barcelona defender Douglas ruled out for eight weeks

Barcelona's Brazilian defender Douglas Pereira will be sidelined for eight weeks after sustaining an injury in his right foot, the Catalan club announced in a statement on Thursday.

The Brazilian footballer underwent medical tests on Thursday morning, reports Efe.

Douglas participated in Wednesday's 0-0 tie against Villanovense in the first leg of the knockout phase of Copa del Rey.

The 25-year-old also suffered another injury last July and was sidelined for two months.
