Bangladesh draw Vietnam 2-2 in Mardeka Cup

The Bangladesh national football team came from behind to play a 2-2 draw against the Vietnam U/23 side in their last Group B match in the Mardeka Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday.

Dhaka, Oct 20 (bdnews24.com) – The Bangladesh national football team came from behind to play a 2-2 draw against the Vietnam U/23 side in their last Group B match in the Mardeka Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday.
Bangladesh went into the match with the hope of retaining some pride following the defeats against the Mozambique U/20 team and the Myanmar national football team by identical 1-0.
But, they went down in the very fourth minute against Vietnam's young side before striker Jahid Hasan Emily pulled the goal back in the 35th minute to bring Bangladesh in the match, according to the Bangladesh Football Federation.
After the resumption, winger Jahid Hossain put Bangladesh ahead striking a goal in the 50th minute, but their lead was short-lived as Vietnam equalised the margin 10 minutes later to finish on Group B top with seven points from three matches.
Bangladesh finished bottom in the four-team Group B with one point from three outings while Mozambique and Myanmar, equal on thee points, were battling in their last match for the semifinal berths.
