Dhaka, Nov 18 (bdnews24.com) – Awami League has finalised nominees, reaching letters to them, for two-thirds of parliamentary constituencies with less than 48 hours to the close of nominations.
Distribution of nomination letters among the party leaders continued on Tuesday.
Some 192 candidates got letters by the end of the day.
Party president Sheikh Hasina on Monday morning started handing letters out at her Sudha Sadan residence with Joynal Abedin for Meherpur-1 constituency in Khulna Division receiving the first letter, party sources said.
The contenders must produce the party nomination letters to the Election Commission to collect nomination forms, they said.
The recipients of AL nomination letters on Tuesday are:
Presidium members Tofail Ahmed for Bhola-2, Abdur Razzaque for Shariatpur-3, Motia Chowdhury for Sherpur-2 and Amir Hossain Amu for Jhalakathi-2.
Mizanur Rahman Khan Dipu for Dhaka-6, Habibur Rahman Molla for Dhaka-5, advocate Sahara Khatun for Dhaka-18, Benzir Ahmed for Dhaka-20 and AKM Rahmatullah for Dhaka-10.
