A Narayanganj court Monday sentenced Shamim Osman to three years in jail after the former Awami League lawmaker failed to submit his wealth statement to the Anticorruption Commission by the deadline. Abdul Quddus Miah, judge of the Narayanganj special district judge's court, delivered the verdict at 2.30pm. Shamim Osman is on the run. ACC deputy director for Narayanganj office Benazir Ahmed filed a case with the court on April 4 against Shamim Osman, one of the 50 graft suspects on the ACC list.
