Mohammad Shahed, 20, of Satkania's Khondkarkhil, died around 10pm at the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), police said.
Witnesses said Islami Chhatra Shibir activists hurled stones at a four-wheel human hauler and exploded crude bombs in Satkania on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway on Wednesday night.
The human hauler overturned as it tried to dodge the attack.
He was rushed to the Upazila Health Complex but was later shifted to the CMCH as his condition worsened, said Chittagong police's Assistant Superintendent Emran Bhuiyan.
CMCH police outpost's Nayek Abul Bashar said Shahed was admitted with a deep wound in his chest and passed away around 10pm.
