An adviser to BNP chief Khaleda Zia, Taimur is a former president of the party’s district chapter.
Police have named him in several cases started by them over violence in early 2015, when the BNP-led coalition enforced a countrywide blockade.
A warrant was out against Taimur in a police case over explosion and violence on Jan 5 that year and he was arrested on Tuesday in that case, said senior Narayanganj police officer Rahman.
