Malek inducted as Naogaon-5 MP

Awami League MP -elect from Noagaon- 5 constituency Abdul Malek took oath at the Parliament Secretariat on Monday.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at 3pm.

The parliamentary seat fell vacant after the death of veteran Awami League politician Abdul Jalil at a Singapore hospital on Mar 6.

The Awami League Parliamentary Board nominated Malek to contest the by-election and he was elected unopposed as the opposition alliance stayed away from the balloting.
