Khaleda hosts Iftar for orphans and Islamic scholars

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has hosted an Iftar for orphans and Islamic scholars on the first day of Ramadan.

Orphan students of Rahmat Alem Islami Mission, Madinatus Muslim Institute, Shantinagar and Fakirapul orphanages and Hafezia Madrasa in Dhaka joined in the Iftar at Ladies Club in Dhaka on Friday.

Among the Muslim scholars, Narsinghdi Jamiya Kashemia Madrasa Principal Maulana Kamaluddin Zafri, Islami Oikya Jote Chairman Maulana Abdul Latif Nezami and Vice-chairman Maulana Abul Hasnat Amini, Chittagong’s Patia Madrasa Director Maulana Mozaffar Ahmed, Maulana Arif Billah of Pirojpur’s Sarsina and Mujibur Rahman Hamidi of Dhaka’s Kamrangir Char Madrasa attended it.

BNP Standing Committee members Moudud Ahmed, Mahbubur Rahman, ASM Hannan Shah, Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar, Sarwari Rahman, Abdul Moyeen Khan and Nazrul Islam Khan, International Affairs Secretary Azaduzzaman Ripon and Religious Affairs Secretary Masud Ahmed Talukder and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Shamim Bin Sayedee were also present.

Khaleda exchanged pleasantries with the guests before the Iftar.

Jatiyatabadi Ulama Dal President Hafez Abdul Malek told bdnews24.com around 300 orphan students from different madrasas and orphanages in the capital and Islamic scholars attended the Iftar.

A special prayer was offered prior to the Iftar.
