BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will go into a huddle with leaders of the party’s Dhaka city committee on Monday evening.
Party Metropolitan Convener Committee’s Member Secretary Abdus Salam told bdnews24.com she was scheduled to hold the meeting at her Gulshan office at 8pm.
He said presidents and general secretaries or convenors of 100 wards had been called to the meeting.
BNP formed an 11-member convenor committee in March 2011, with former mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka as convenor and Abdus Salam as member secretary.
The committee was asked to form thana and ward level committees within six months, a task that is yet to be completed.
The metropolitan committee has been accused of being inactive during the party’s movements.
Abdus Salam said Khaleda Zia would like to hear from Dhaka unit leaders their views about this situation. She had last met them in November last year.
On Feb 4, the BNP chairperson announced at a press conference she would start strengthening the party to begin a tougher movement demanding early elections under a non-partisan government.
