Joypurhat, Nov 17 (BDNEWS)- The leader and workers of the district have geared up themselves as informal election campaign in the district has already begun well ahead of the next general elections.
The probable candidates of different political parties including ruling BNP and the main opposition Awami League have already begun their electioneering campaign in the two parliamentary constituencies of the district.
Discussions are being held at every places including at tea table, office and court premises on the issues of possible nomination and election result.
In Joypurhat-1 constituency, former minister and sitting MP Abdul Alim who defeated AL candidate Abbas Ali Mandal by a huge margin of 80 thousand votes, would be the candidate for BNP.
The possible candidates of Awami League in the constituency are Panchbibi Poura Chairman Advocate Shamsul Alam Dudu and Former AL MP Abbas Ali Mandal.
Although nomination of Awami League has yet to be confirmed, the leaders and workers of the party have already begun their campaigning.
Former BNP MP Golam Rabbani could contest in the constituency with the ticket of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh.
In Joypurhat-2 constituency comprising Kali, Khetlal and Akkelpur upazilas, possible BNP candidate would be HM Khalilur Rahman who defeated AL candidate industrialist Mir Jalalur Rahman by 30 thousand votes.
Businessman Abdul Latif also seeks nomination from BNP.
The possible candidates for Awami League in the constituency are Mir Jalalur Rahman, former general secretary of distict AL Nripendranath Mandal, Forhad Akand Pompi and general secretary of district AL SM Solaiman Ali.
Besides, Jatiya Party leader Nurullah Masum and CPB leader Nazrul Islam could also seek nominations in the constituency.
