Dhaka, June 02 (bdnews24.com) – The government dialogue with Gano Forum began Monday at the Chief Adviser's Office at 10:00 am, said an official with the Chief Adviser's Office.
Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed is leading the government participants.
Dr Kamal Hossain is leading the Gano Forum team.
Starting the current spell of electoral reforms talks with the political parties on May 22, the Caretaker Government has so far sat and discussed issues with Workers Party, Bikalpadhara Bangladesh, JSD (Inu), Bangladesher Communist Party, Liberal Democratic Party and Islami Shashontantra Andolan.
As scheduled, the government will sit with the business leaders Tuesday.
Against the backdrop of the political parties demanding direct meetings with the chief adviser, five advisers had held pre-dialogue talks starting on April 18.
Law adviser AF Hassan Ariff, communications adviser Ghulam Quader, LGRD adviser Anwarul Iqbal and foreign affairs adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury and commerce adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman represented the government during the pre-dialogue talks.
The advisers first sat in pre-dialogue talks with the Awami League and then with a BNP faction, Jatiya Party and other political parties.
Fakhruddin in his address to the nation on May 12 hoped that national unity would achieved on every important issue through the dialogue.
