Dhaka, Dec 5 (bdnews24.com)—Commerce minister Faruk Khan has taken easy the cabinet shuffle that puts him in charge of civil aviation and tourism.
He says it is natural that there will be changes in the ministry.
"In a democracy, it is a common fact," Faruk told journalists in a formal reaction to the change at his office on Monday.
Faruk swapped portfolio with G M Quader after an official announcement on Monday.
He asserted that he did a good job at his previous position and hoped to maintain the trail of success in his new assignment "with everyone's co-operation."
The official announcement came after days of speculation and rumours about changes in the ministries of communications and commerce.
Faruk added that he would take up his new office within 'a day or two'.
Faruk, a Gopalganj MP, was given charge of the commerce ministry in 2009 after the Awami League-led coalition government came to power.
He had faced severe criticism for his remarks on price hike of daily essentials. He came under intense public criticism for his advice to 'eat less' during the hike.
