The 70-year-old leader was admitted to Dhaka’s United Hospital on Monday following chest pain. Heart specialist Dr Momenuzzaman is supervising his treatment.
Following an angiogram done on Tuesday morning, Fakhrul could return home on Wednesday, said BNP Vice-Chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain citing his doctor.
“They found no abnormality in his heart. He is fine now,” he told bdnews24.com.
Fakhrul’s wife Rahat Ara Begum and younger brother Mirza Faysal Amin are with him.
The BNP stalwart was diagnosed with a carotid artery block while in prison in 2016. He later took treatment in the US and Singapore.
