Police have pressed charges against 11 persons, including BNP’s acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a case filed under the Explosives Act.

Investigation Officer Sub-Inspector KM Azizul Haq filed the charge-sheet at the court of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) on Sunday.
The Motijheel Police Station has accused 11 activists of the BNP and its affiliates in a case concerning an explosion on Dec 9, 2012 at the Dainik Bangla intersection.
CMM court’s general registrar Gaffarul Alam said the charge-sheet had been Dec 14 last year, but the Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman signed it only on Sunday, the day he had fixed for a hearing.
He said the matter would be forwarded to the Metropolitan Sessions Court for further action.
