He had brought up issued in a discussion last week and reaffirmed it at another meeting at the National Press Clubon Thursday.

"One-eleven was staged to destroy the family and party of Ziaur Rahman, the symbol of nationalism. Those who were behind the plot are still active. They are active within and outside the party and are operating from within and outside the country."

The BNP leader who was incarcerated after a state of emergency was declared after Jan 11, 2007, appealed to the members of the main opposition to unite against these conspirators.

Participating at a discussion organised by BNP leaning Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) to commemorate BNP chief Khaleda Zia's release from prison, he said "I have heard that the government will bring new laws to check the activities of the opposition.
