BNP asks search panel to disclose its recommendations for the next Election Commission

The BNP wants the search committee to disclose their recommendations for the next election commissioners.

The six-member panel headed by Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain is expected to meet President Md Abdul Hamid at 6pm on Monday.

"We urge the search committee to recommend names of of impartial, honest and competent individuals and make the list public," BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told a media briefing.

The BNP senior joint secretary general claimed that the civil society also wants to know the recommendations.

"According to media reports and others sources, the eminent citizens have also asked for it during their meeting with the panel."
